  2.     When you are done with your list, think about the inferences and conclusions you'd make out of the composite of these details.

                Focus on two literary techniques:  Stranger in the Village and Archetypal Journey- Understand how authors use these motifs to either promote the values of a time/culture, or use culture clash to suggest change.  Students will both learn origins of traditional American cultural frameworks, but also learn to see “outside the box” and appreciate values of other cultures.  In a value clash, who adjusts?  How?  How can I train my eyes to see what’s been there, but that I haven’t seen before?
